I send you greetings on this exciting day
knowing that your grand howl will probably be
heard onstage at the Theatre Royal and might
even stop the traffic on the M4!
My memory of a jamboree on Lansdown goes back
50 years when Lord Rowallan was "Chief Skip", as
we called him. I refer of course to the then
commissioner. I seem to recall we were at the
bottom of a long field and as the flag dropped
thousands of cubs ran hell for leather up the
field towards the Great Skip. It must have been
pretty frightening for him as we screamed our
heads off as we approached .He looked very
forbidding in his kilt and woggle but he held
his ground .
We pulled up just in time and for a moment the
world stood still.
Then we all started laughing and went off for a
biscuit and some fizz.
Brilliant day. Enjoy yours .
Good luck.... Chris Harris.
P.S. see you at the panto, Aladdin this
Christmas at Bath Theatre Royal.
